Sedgley & District Community Centre
Gardening Club
Nearly 40 members already belong to the Sedgley and District Community Association Gardening Club, which meets at the Community Centre in Ladies Walk – near the Library and Medical Centre – on the fourth Monday of the month (7pm-9pm).
Newcomers are welcome to join the club at a cost of £13 per year - plus the £2 annual subscription fee of the Community Association itself.
But they are perfectly free to pop in as visitors at a cost of £2 per visit – and join later if they like what they find.
The activities of the Gardening Club include talks by specialist speakers on various gardening topics, occasional plant sales and periodic visits to various gardens.
Every year there is a flower show in August where members and people from other clubs in the district take part - showing the produce and flowers they have grown – with winners being presented with rosettes. On show day plants are sold, there is a tombola, musical entertainment and cups of tea and cakes. BECAUSE OF THE CORONAVIRUS CRISIS ALL ACTIVITIES ARE SUBJECT TO ALTERATION - INCLUDING THE 2020 ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW, WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN CANCELLED.
